The PlayStation 5: Specs, Dates, and Beyond

A Revolutionary Design

The yet to be released PS5 experienced its extended moment of fame back in June of this year when the unique design of the console generated loads of discussion within online communities.

The console has a streamlined, futuristic look, with a dark, central body that is encased within vertical, white sheets on both ends. The controller follows a similar, modern, and minimalist black and white scheme that is further enhanced with recessed, blue illumination.

While this design may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it is certainly something that differs from the norm and dares to stand out.

Next-Generation System Specs

If there is one thing you can be sure of, it is that the PlayStation 5 will be on a whole other level in terms of performance. System specs show that the device will arrive with a custom 825 GB SSD internal storage that will load all your heaviest games in no time. Not to mention the capability of running games with resolutions upwards of 4K and 8K, from 60 to up to 120 fps.

Release Date for the PS5

Sony is yet to release the specific release date for the exciting new PS5, but we know that it is all set for the 2020 Holiday season. It would not be a surprise if the PS5 goes up against the Xbox Series X in Christmas 2020 in a Box Office blockbuster showdown for gaming consoles.

Other sources have revealed that the new gadget may be up for purchase as early as November 13 or 20, 2020.

Pre-orders and Pricing

While the product has not explicitly been put on the market yet, you can give yourself the chance to get a pre-order by registering with your PlayStation Online ID. You may receive an email confirming your pre-order for a limited set of new PS5 gaming consoles.

The price of the console has not been released with the specifications and design details, but analysts have made some rough estimates regarding the potential range based on previous products. Current predictions estimate the potential price for the PS5 somewhere close to $499/£449 / AU$749. The Digital Edition of the console, understandably, would most likely be priced below £400/$400.
